This point is invariably used as a centre of climbing and
trekking expeditions by the Himalayan Mountaineering
Institute, Darjeeling. The trek to Bakhim is an
unforgettable B experience. Dzongri at an altitude of 3,962
meters, offers the visitor an excellent and unobstructed
view of the Khangchendzonga Massif. It also provides a
trekker with superb views of sunrise and sunset.

SIKKIM KANCHENJUNGA TREK
Kanchenjunga trek starts through luxuriant
rhododendrons, pines, spruces and giants magnolias
forests, then through green meadows and yak pastures,
the trek leads us towards west Sikkim, close to the
Nepali border. Along the Onglakhing glacier moraines and
Samity sacred lake, we climb up to Gocha La pass,

the area southwest of Dzongri and as defined by it’s
name, includes several days of hike traversing the
Singalila Range, the lesser mountain chain that rises
from the northern hills of Darjeeling District and

Kanchenjunga) massif.. |
