Day 01

Trongsa - Shopjapang
The trek begins from Trongsa Ta-Dzong, the watch tower situated just above Trongsa town. The trail leads to Dorji Gyompa, a little temple. A climb of about 3-4 hours, through pasture land. The trial zigzags to the road head. The route then follows the motor road for 2 hours untill the campsite at Shopjapang.

Day 02

Shopjapang - Domkhar
Start with an easy 2-3 hours walk following the motor road to Yotola pass (11,000ft). Vegetation of evergreen forests and wild orchids. Leaving the motor road, the trial descends to Yotopang. Views of the Chhumey valley and the Tashi-chholing palace can be seen from this point. Another 3-4 hours easy walk down to the camp-site at Domkhar, altitude of 2730 mtrs.

Day 03

Domkhar - Wangdichholing Lodge
The route begins with an ascent of 3 hours North-Eastwards through dense blue pine forests, till the Kekela pass (3320 mtrs). Good views of the whole valley. Another 2 hours easy walk to the second pass - Chhumeyla. The rest of the trail, passing by Lama Gompa, descends through dense pine forests, and ends near Jakar Dzong.
