Kathmandu to Paro Fly

Day 02

Paro Sightseeing
After breakfast drive to Drugyal Dzong. From here the peak of Chomolhari also known as Mountain of the Goddess " can be viewed clearly. On the way visit a typical Bhutanese farmhouse. Also visit the Rinpung Dzong, National Museum and Kyichu Lhakhang.

Day 03

Paro to Thimphu
After breakfast drive to Thimphu, Capital of Bhutan.Visit the Memorial Chorten dedicated to the Late Third King.

Day 04

Thimphu to Trongsa
After breakfast drive towards the Central Bhutan.Visit around Trongsa.

Day 05

Trongsa to Jakar (Bumthang)
After breakfast drive to Bumthang. Bumthang is a land of myth and mystery .One can have the view of Jakar Dzong and visit Lame Gompa.

Day 06

Bumthang - Gorsum
Distance - 18 KMS about 6/7 hours. (Alt.3120m). After breakfast drive to the trek starting point. The Trek route follows the Chamkharchu, A river known for its richness in trout. O/N camp.

Day 07

Gorsum - Lungsum
Distance - 12 KMS about 5 hours. (Alt.31600m). The trail leads through dense forests of spruce, hemlock, cypress, juniper and maples. The trail is a little muddy and ascends gradually till you reach camp site. O/N Camp.

Day 08

Lungsum - Tsochenchen
Distance - 15 KMS about 6/7 hours. (Alt 3100m). The vegetation from Lungsum to Tsochenchen is similar untill you reach near camp site, above the tree line. O/N camp.

Day 09

Tsochenchen - Dur Tsachu
Distance - 17 KMS about 7 hours. (Alt. 3400m). The trek from Tsochenchen ascends till the Julila pass (cir 4700m.) If the weather permits the surrounding mountains can be viewed. After the pass the trek trail descends till the camp site. Musk deer, herds of blue sheep and himalayan bear may be seen enroute. O/N camp.

Day 10

Dur Tsachu - Halt. (Tsachu = Hot Spring)
After a late breakfast relax in the Hot Spring or hike around the area near camp. O/N camp.

Day 11

Day 12

 Tsochenchen - Gorsum
Distance - 27 KMS about 9 hours. (Alt.3120m). An early start for a long walking day. The trek trial descends gradualy all the way till camp site. O/N camp.

Day 13

Gorsum - Bumthang
From Gorsum descend till the bridge near Dur village. Then follow the new motor road till you meet your transport. Drive to Wangdicholing Lodge. After lunch at leisure. O/N at the Lodge.

Day 14

Bumthang to Wangdi
After breakfast drive to Wangdi.

Day 15

Wangdi to Thimphu
Drive to Thimphu. Enroute visit Punakha Dzong.Punakha used to be the winter capital of Bhutan until 1966.Visit around Punakha and then drive to Thimphu.

Day 16

Thimphu Sightseeing
After breakfast drive to visit Tashichho Dzong.Also visit the handicraft emporium where Bhutanese textiles and other arts are displayed. Visit the painting and woodcraft schools where traditional art and painting are still kept alive. Visit the Memorial Chorten, the National Library and Simtokha Dzong.

Day 17

Thimphu to Paro
Drive to Paro International Airport and then fly to Kathmandu.
