Kathmandu to Paro Fly |

Paro Sightseeing
After breakfast drive to Drugyal Dzong. From here
the peak of Chomolhari also known as Mountain of the
Goddess " can be viewed clearly. On the way visit a
typical Bhutanese farmhouse. Also visit the Rinpung
Dzong, National Museum and Kyichu Lhakhang. |

03 |
Paro to Thimphu
After breakfast drive to Thimphu. Visit Memorial
Chorten, National Library and Tashichho Dzong. |

04 |
Thimphu Sightseeing
Visit Simtokha dzong one of the oldest fortresses in
Bhutan.Also visit woodcraft, painting school and
Handicrafts Emporium. |

Day
05 |
Thimphu - Talekha
Drive till Simtokha Rigney College of Buddhist
Studies where the ponies await. The trail leads
through blue pine and evergreen forests till Talekha
village. The village lies at an (Alt. of 2925m). A
difficult 2 hrs ascent, and a further pleasant 2 hrs
through forests of tall blue pines. O/N in camp near
the Lhakhang in Talekha. |

06 |
Talekha - Japhuna
Continue gradually up through thick blue pine and
ever green forests, oak trees, then into soft pine
and spruce for about 2.30 hrs till the tree line
ends. Cross the Jelezela pass (Alt. 4000m).
Breathtaking views of Thimphu and the surrounding
areas can be seen. Further north marvellous views of
the mountain ranges can be seen. Descend for an hour
and then after two ridges reach a yak camp at
Japhuna (Alt. 3800m). O/N camp. |

07 |
Japhuna - Jaduna
The trial from Japhuna goes up and down over ridges
to a small valley for about 4 hours. Along the route
there are many small lakes. Another hour and a half
climb through rhododendron shrubs till a yak camp
called Jaduna. (Alt. 4100m) for night halt. From the
camp you can see the rocky peak of Mt. Um Jomo, the
highest peak in the whole Dagala range. |

08 |
Jaduna - Labatama
There are two trails. One going on the left of Um
Jomo over Hetsogue pass to the Hetso-Hentso lakes
and the other on to the right of Um Jomo over
Jomique pass to the Setso Yumtso lakes. From Jaduna
follow the trial that goes on the right of Jomo.
After a climb of one and half hours arrive at the
pass of Jomique (Alt.4460m). Enroute pass by Dungka
Tso (lake). From the pass the same mountains of
northern Bhutan can be viewed. Then descend for
about 2 hours till Labatama yak camp, near Yumtso.

09 |
Labatama - Halt
An excursion with pack lunch to Hentso lake for
fishing.
OR, excursion to Jamtso
OR, excursion to Relitso. |

Day
10 |
Labatama Halt
Excursion to Setso and the near by lakes. An easy 15
min hike to Setso. Later you can go over a small
ridge and then down to Jagetso, Pemitso etc. Whole
day fishing and exploring and return to camp.
OR
an early
start with pack lunch and follow the same trial
passing Jagetso, and Dagetso to Jomique pass. From
the pass the real climb to Jomo begins. After 2 hrs
of hard rock climbing, reach the summit of Um Jomo
near (5050m). from here one can have a most
spectacular view. Then descend back to camp. |

Day
11 |
Labatama - Genekha
Today leave the lovely pastures of Labana and the
Dagala range. After 2 hours gradual climb, reach the
highest point for the day at Pagalaptsa (Alt.
4170m). Descend through rhododendron shrubs for 2
hours and then into thick ever green and oak forests
for another 2 hours till Genekha. O/N in the camp
near the village. |

Ganekha - Paro
Short trek and then you will drive to Paro. |

13 |
Paro Sightseeing
After breakfast drive to Satsam Chorten and from
there to Taktsang Monastery which means "Tiger's
Nest". The Monastery is perched on a rocky ledge
with a sheer drop of nearly 4000-ft. and overlooks
the Paro valley. |

14 |
Paro to Kathmandu Fly
Drive to Paro International Airport and then fly to
Kathmandu. |
