Kathmandu Paro Fly

Day 02

Paro Sightseeing
After breakfast drive to Drugyal Dzong. From here the peak of Chomolhari also known as Mountain of the Goddess " can be viewed clearly. On the way visit a typical Bhutanese farmhouse.

Day 03

Paro to Thimphu
Drive to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan.In the afternoon visits the Memorial Chorten, dedicated to the Late Third King.

Day 04

Thimphu Sightseeing
After breakfast drive to visit Tashichho Dzong.Also visit the handicraft emporium where Bhutanese textiles and other arts are displayed. Visit the painting and woodcraft schools where traditional art and painting are still kept alive. Visit the Memorial Chorten, the National Library and Simtokha Dzong.

Day 05

Thimphu to Trongsa
After breakfast drive to Trongsa. The journey to central Bhutan begins today.

Day 06

Trongsa to Jakar (Bumthang)
Drive to Jakar (Bumthang). Bumthang is a land myth and mystery and tales of the Guru Padmasambhava.After that hike to visit Lame gompa, a temple built by the first King of Bhutan.

Day 07

Bumthang to Halt
Visit the dairy Farm, the Swiss Cheese Factory and apple Juice factory. In the evening walk around the Bumthang Valley.

Day 08

Bumthang - Nganglhakhang
The Trek route follows the Chamkharchu river. Lunch stop at Thangbi Lhakhang - then you enter to the "Swan Land" (Ngang Yul) with its center "Swan temple" (Nganglhakhang). This part of the valley was at first inhabited only by swans who gave their name (Ngang) to the place. O/N in Camp. (Alt.9500ft). Distance - 20 KMS about 5 hrs.

Day 09

Nganglhakhang - Ugyenchholing
Climb gradually to Phephela pass (Alt.3353m/11000ft). the highest point on the trek route. The trial until the pass leads through one of the most beautiful forested areas of this region. Allowing for many stops to enjoy natures beauties. O/N in camp. (Alt.9300ft). Distance - 23 KMS about 7/8 hrs.

Day 10

Ugyenchholing - Jaker
The gradually descending trial follows the Tang-chu, another trout filled river. Along the banks of this river is Tang Rimpoche Lhakhang. Distance - 10 KMS about 2/3 hours. From Pangshing, drive to Jaker. (Alt.cir 9000ft). Enroute to Jaker visit Mebar Tsho " The Burning Lake". O/N in Wangdichholing Lodge.

Jakar to Trongsa
After breakfast drive to Trongsa along the east west highway. In the evening scroll around Trongsa.

Trongsa to Thimphu
Drive back to Thimphu.

Thimphu to Paro to Kathmandu Fly
Drive to Paro International Airport and then fly back to Kathmandu.
